Common questions
Why do you pre-authorize my card instead of charging upfront?+
Whole goats are priced by weight and the exact weight isn't known until the animal is processed. We pre-authorize a hold at the top of your weight range — like a gas station or restaurant tab — and then capture the actual amount after weighing. You only pay for what you get.
When will I actually be charged?+
After the animal is weighed and before delivery. If your delivery is within 7 days, your card is held at checkout and we capture the final amount once we have the weight. If delivery is further out, we save your card and charge it off-session when the animal is weighed.
What is the "Card processing" line at checkout?+
Stripe charges a per-transaction processing fee (2.9% + $0.30). We pass that through as a separate line so the meat and delivery prices stay honest. The fee is recalculated on the actual weighed total, not the held amount.
What if the animal weighs more than the tier I picked?+
We cap your charge at the top of the tier you selected. If you pick 70–80 lb and the animal comes in at 85 lb, you're billed at 80 lb — you'll never pay above the upper bound of your tier or above what we authorized.
Can I cancel my pre-order?+
Yes — free of charge up to 24 hours before your delivery window. After that, the animal is being prepared specifically for your order and cancellation isn't possible.

Across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex (Irving, Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, Euless, Las Colinas, Fort Worth, Dallas & Arlington). Enter your ZIP at the top of the order form to confirm we deliver to you.
How fresh is the meat?+
Same-day fresh. Animals are processed and packed in sealed, insulated cold packaging for your chosen delivery window — never frozen between the farm and your door.
